This event coincides with the 60th anniversary of the founding of the United States Peace Corp in 1961. Since its founding sixty years ago, more than 240,000 Americans have served as Peace Corps volunteers in scores of countries. In Iran, more than 2,000 Peace Corps volunteers served in the country between 1961-1976.
